Join us for a special presentation by Celeste Sherry, Spinner of wool – and more!
Dressed as a middle-class woman of 1775, Celeste will speak on spinning and fiber/textile arts throughout history, as far back as the Neolithic Era. She will give a spinning demonstration and provide a hands-on display of a variety of fibers (flax, silk, alpaca, cotton, etc.), naturally dyed yarns, and 18th century textile tools & wool/linen garments. Attendees may try their hand at spinning on a drop spindle. A Q&A forum will follow the lecture.
No charge for PHS members. $5 at the door for non-members.
Children welcome when accompanied by an adult.
